Frederick Robert Burrows, Sr. Obituary
Frederick Robert Burrows, Sr. joined his beloved wife on September 27, 2022 after succumbing to a long illness. He was 83 years old. He was born in Clinton, NY on March 20, 1939 to Robert Henry Burrows Jr. and Anne Elizabeth “Betty” Jones Burrows. He graduated high school in 1957 and bussed tables at Trinkaus Manor while also working at his father’s trash collection business Burrows Trucking. On April 11, 1959 he married his sweetheart Mary Louise Henry and they began their journey of over 63 years of marriage. Together they built a life, a business and a family. Fred was a visionary and a risk taker. When he saw an opportunity he seized it and together with his wife, they started Fred Burrows Trucking & Excavating together in 1969. It is still operating today with his only son and namesake at the reign.
Fred was a member of the Whitesboro Volunteer Firefighters during his 20’s and loved participating in Firematics. Together with close friends, Fred & Louise traveled to several places including Jamaica, Hawaii, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Puerto Rico and two family cruises to the Caribbean with their children and grandchildren. He especially loved Hawaii. He also visited many states, provinces and even England while chasing his passion of DIRT Racing, Great American Truck Racing (GATR) and NASCAR. He never missed a NASCAR race and attended every Daytona 500 event until his last one in 2020. Ever since their honeymoon trip to Florida, Fred & Louise always spent some part of the winter there. They enjoyed being close to other siblings and spending time away from the cold and snow. Dad especially loved to sit in the sun next to his outdoor fountain in the later afternoons basking in the sun’s warmth. In recent years he got great joy out of pulling his tractors at local Tractor Pulls.
Fred is survived by his three children and their partners Bonnie (Newt) Ingalls, Brenda Major, and Fred (Stacy) Burrows, Jr. He is survived by 10 grandchildren and their partners, Bryan Ingalls, Lindsay (Robert) Walker, Mallory (BJ) Ingalls, Chelsea (Travis) Lallier, Dakota Major, Ethan, Alex & Jake Burrows, and Hailee & Michael Catalano and Great Grandchildren Harper, Skylar, Max, Oaklee, Sadie, Quincy, Royce and Nola.
Fred also leaves behind his siblings and their spouses, Douglas (Mary) Burrows, Anne (George) Gennings and Sandra Schmidt along with his in-laws, Linda (Glenn) Smith, Fred (Faye) Henry, & Marilyn (Gary) DuBois. Fred was preceded in death by his father in 1988, his mother in 2002, his sisters Marlene Brown in 2019 and Denise Poynter in 2022, and his granddaughter, Jordyn Ramsey, in 2021. Most recently he lost his beloved wife, Louise, on September 10, 2022.

Mary Louise (Henry) Burrows entered the arms of her Heavenly Father peacefully at home surrounded by family after losing her battle with cancer on September 10, 2022. She was 82 years old.
She was born in Cortland, NY, on September 1,1940 to Carroll F. Henry and Marjorie Griffith Henry. She was raised in Westmoreland, NY and graduated high school in 1958. She worked at Chicago Pneumatic in the accounting department. On April 11, 1959 she married the love of her life Frederick R. Burrows and they began their journey of over 63 years of marriage. Together they built a life, a business and a family. Fred & Louise started their company together in 1969 named Fred Burrows Trucking & Excavating. Louise was instrumental in the success of this company supporting her husband and creating the office structure and bookkeeping side of the business. She did this all while raising three children. She opened her own company named Beaver Trucking, one of the first female owned trucking firms in the area.
Louise was a gifted home maker and decorator who did it all from making clothes for her young children, canning her own vegetables and even wallpapering and painting her two beautiful homes. During the 1990’s she enjoyed folk art painting and attending craft shows with her daughter. Together with close friends, Louise and Fred, travelled to several places including Jamaica, Hawaii, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Puerto Rico and two family cruises to the Caribbean with her children and grandchildren. She also visited many states and provinces while supporting her husband’s passion of DIRT Racing, Great American Truck Racing (GATR) and NASCAR. Louise also loved to read non-fiction, mostly alternative medical books and newsletters building on her knowledge of vitamin supplements and helpful therapies for whatever ails you. She accumulated a vast array of knowledge in this area and offered recommendations for whomever needed it. Louise loved to have a good game of Mexican Train or Quiddler with her family. Ever since their honeymoon trip to Florida, Louise and Fred always spent some part of the winter there. They enjoyed being close to other siblings and spending time away from the cold and snow.
